Pro-Con Debate Participant, CCAS Annual Meeting 2012I have interests in development of the fellowship training curriculum in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology, and in education about congenital cardiac anesthesia care for practicing anesthesiologists. I would like to develop CCAS peer reviewed curricular offerings on congenital cardiac topics that can be disseminated via the SPA/CCAS website.
I am also a member of the AASPD section for pediatric fellowship directors, Pediatric Anesthesia Program Directors Group. I am active with the Pediatric Anesthesia Leadership Conference, have worked on a committee to develop a vetted 2nd fellowship year curriculum for pediatric pain management. I spent 8 years in private pediatric practice before returning to academics, and would love to help grow CCAS membership from this practitioner group.

As a practicing pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist I was very excited when the CCAS was founded in 2005. I have attended the annual CCAS meetings since 2007 and informally attended the board of director’s open meeting every year. In 2007 Courtney Hardy and I started the CCAS Newsletter, and we remain co-editors for this bi-annual publication. In addition to helping edit the newsletter, I have made written contributions to it as well. I helped develop the new CCAS website which was launched this year. I am Education Section Editor for the CCAS website and I have contributed many lectures on various aspects of pediatric cardiac anesthesia which are available for all CCAS members. At the CCAS meetings I have had an oral poster presentation (2010) and I was an invited speaker at this years meeting in Tampa, Florida. I have been a member of the CCAS/STS Database development group since 2009.Involvement with other national/international (pediatric) anesthesia organizations (if applicable) – please provide a brief description of organization.
