CCAS-CHiP Network Journal Watch Collaboration

By Rania K. Abbasi, MD

The Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society (CCAS) is initiating a new collaboration with the Congenital Heart Professionals (CHiP) Network's Journal Watch.  The CHiP Network is a global network connecting congenital heart disease-interested professionals with events, research opportunities, and education.  Some of you may be familiar with their monthly "Journal Watch," in which they distribute literature and abstracts in pediatric cardiology, congenital heart surgery, congenital heart interventions, congenital/pediatric electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease.  Through a collaboration with the CCAS, they are now able to offer another subsection in pediatric cardiac anesthesia and intensive care, which not only serves our congenital cardiac anesthesia community, but also educates our CHD colleagues in cardiology and cardiac surgery about what we do.

The CCAS will sponsor biannual reviews within the monthly abstract distribution, with June being the first installment.  Three of our members have provided excellent commentaries listed below of the following articles:

The next installment will come in December 2019.  If you are interested in writing a brief commentary, please contact Rania K. Abbasi, MD at rkabbasi@gmail.com by September 1.  Reviews will be due to the CCAS Communication Committee no later than November 1, 2019.
