CCAS has begun its 5th year of existence and some exciting opportunities exist for our membership. Through the tireless work of David Vener and others, the CCAS/STS Database has matured to the point where the first harvest and analysis of data is being undertaken.

David will be updating us on the database at our Annual Meeting in Tampa in February. Those of you interested in research questions for which database analysis would be useful should approach David with your ideas.

Our Newsletter and Website experts Courtney Hardy, Stuart Hall, and Mark Twite are working hard to collect material for an Enduring Educational Material section of the Website. I encourage those of you with suitable material to contribute to what we hope will become a valuable member resource.

Finally, an opportunity for those interested in taking a leadership role in our organization is close at hand. Four Board of Director positions and the position of Secretary/Treasurer will become vacant in October 2012. We will, in short order, be soliciting nominations from the membership for these positions.  Specific information will be forthcoming via email and the CCAS website regarding submission of nominations for these positions.

The CCAS Annual Meeting Program for February 2012 prior to the SPA Winter Meeting is an excellent one. The contents of the Meeting are summarized elsewhere in this Newsletter by Jumbo Williams. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Suanne Daves, Jumbo Williams, and Wanda Miller-Hance for their hard work in putting the Program together.

Thank you all for your support of the organization and I look forward to seeing you all in Tampa.
