President's Message

Thank you all for making this year’s Annual Meeting, our 5th, such a great success. The CCAS membership and the general pediatric anesthesia community turned out in record numbers.

The Annual Meeting Program format has matured, I think, to contain a good mix of basic science and clinical material. I want to personally thank Anshuman Sharma and Suanne Daves for pulling it all together.

Suanne and Jumbo Williams are already hard at work on next year’s program for Tampa and I invite you to approach them with your suggestions, concerns, or desire to participate in the program.

Finally, now that sub-speciality certification has become a reality in Pediatric Anesthesia, we need to consider whether it is time to seek ACGME accreditation for fellowship training in Anesthesia for Congenital Heart Disease.

I welcome your thoughts on this topic. Have a safe and restful summer.
